Next semester, if I take sixteen credits (including 4 in my major) I'll be able to graduate! Because apparently I already have 20 Middle Eastern studies credits. My transcript lied and told me I only had thirteen. But I went to see the department and was told that some art history classes that my transcript was saying "These aren't major credits, WTF" are actually major credits.

I just hope my major advisor did the math right.

ugh...is it time to go back to school yet?

No. I am sick of being in the middle of nowhere with no job. I even applied at a brand-new Forever 21 in Danvers hoping that since they were new they needed to hire people, but nooooo, they apparently don't need to hire Jafaria. I will be broke when I go back to school. But at least I'll be back.

And at least I'll still have my scholarship when I get back. I managed to take five classes, all above the 200 level, and pull two A's and three B's. And I need the scholarship, because even with my financial aid I'm getting charged more money because I have a single room. At least this coming year is the last year I'll live on campus.

Whenever I miss school I just play The Sims 2 and send the Sim version of me to school. She's a History major, and going to be a politician when she graduates. (Her housemate and current best friend is none other than a How Not To Slay Dragons character. Guess which one.)

Squee. Slither club is updating and there are snakies in my inbox.

...Don't have anything else to post, other than that I won't be studying abroad this summer and will be trying to get a summer job instead. (Amusingly, I might end up learning more Arabic anyway, that is, if the Moroccan restaurant actually hires me.)

Oh, and my LiveJournal has a new username. The link in my profile redirects. My new one's in Arabic! Proves I learned something! Even though I'm totally not doing my homework right now.

I'm also posting this from a new laptop. My laptop died about a week ago and I bought a replacement. I'm kind of pissed off that I can't get my super-epic cache of Jafar pictures off the old one, but whatever. (I'll say the same thing I did on LJ: anyone who has pictures of Jafar should send them to me. Help a poor fangirl out?)

1. Well if you haven't guessed, um yeah, another new obsession. LOL, I've had this avatar since November. Damn movies don't make a lick of sense, but whatever, Ardeth is hot.

2. I failed NaNoWriMo. Yes, old news, but since my old journal was about starting it I figured I'd say I messed up. I had roughly 35,000 words.

3. I got good grades. This is utterly unsurprising.

4. I can't wait to go back to school, so that I can see my crazy Arabic professor. I also can't wait for March, since that's when I find out if I was accepted to study abroad.

Just some random new stuff.

1. I'm attempting NaNoWriMo this year. Haven't actually signed up yet, but I'll do that soon. I already have a plot outline and lots of character profiles for my novel. Including one where the 'character' has her stats listed as 'length: 2'8"' and description 'four legged and scaly' because she's, well, a pet lizard.

2. I'm submitting an application for a scholarship to study Arabic in Egypt over the summer. If I get in, my entire trip including instruction, housing and travel is paid for courtesy of the State Department. And if I don't, well, I won't have lost anything except a little time writing. And I can't exactly complain about writing.

3. My new glasses are going to be awesome. I'm getting them tomorrow. And I'll have to take a picture with them on because they're better than my old ones.

4. Not that anyone is still reading this trainwreck, but I think I'll have the Discworld fanfic wrapped up around Thanksgiving. That's when I'll have time for writing that doesn't involve my Nano novel or trying to go to Egypt.

5. Found new books to love. The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud is awesome. I think I'll pimp it in the books forum.
